"You are my sun, my moon and all my stars."

Eleni and Nathan (or Pip and Nate as everyone calls them), recently celebrated their engagement in fine style. Looking so in love, the glamorous couple danced the night away with friends and family on the Rooftop Terrace at Brisbane Powerhouse. We asked Eleni to tell us about her dreamy night.

Q: Give me 5 words to describe your engagement party? Rustic, glittering nights, relaxed but glamorous, magical.

Q: Why did you choose Andrew as your photographer? We knew from the start we would use Andrew. We both love his work, and he has known us for a number of years which helps us feel more relaxed when he works his magic.

Q: Tell me about your amazing dress? Where is it from? What made you choose that style? It is from a boutique in Sydney called Galanni. I was umming and ahhing for a while on an engagement dress, which meant I hadn’t found the one… when I saw this, I knew it was it! I wanted to wear white or cream and go for the Hollywood glam-type look with sleek hair and red lips.

Q: Favourite quote about love? “You are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.” – by E.E. Cummings.

Q: How did you know Nate was your one? He thinks it was love at first sight, 10 years ago at a friend’s birthday hehe. We had our ups and downs, but I knew about 2 years in to our (almost 7 year relationship) that he was the one. He knows how to make me laugh, is affectionate even though he tries not to be in front of the boys, and he has the most beautiful family that I also fell in love with.

Q: What are your memories of the night? Seeing all our friends drinking, socialising, dancing and enjoying themselves. It was a perfect afternoon looking over the water. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and night.

Q: Do you think it’s important to celebrate your engagement? Will your wedding be bigger or smaller? Yes! I only waited 6 ½ years 😛 I wanted the chance to use my creative ideas and show my style through the engagement. None of our friends had used the Rooftop Terrace as a venue before and I think the room had character and it suited both Nathan and I. My engagement was supposed to be small, based on that I think the wedding will be bigger.

Q: Would you do anything differently or change anything? Only to make the night last longer!

Q: Advice to other ladies about to celebrate their engagement? Have some fun being creative! Pinterest inspired me to create my dream engagement.
