Lisa knew after just four hours that Jason was the one for her. And now they’re getting married and you can see how much they love each other. We needed more details about how romantic Jason can be and luckily, Lisa obliged.
Q: How did you meet?
Jason and I met through mutual friends — my friend had ‘conveniently’ mentioned my name to Jason’s friend, and they both thought it would be a great idea for us to meet!
Q: When did you know he was the one for you? What makes him so special?
I knew I would marry Jason after our very first date. I even called my girlfriend straight after our date and said to her “I bet you I marry this boy one day”. She laughed me off and said I was crazy because I had know him for only four hours, but I just knew. What makes him so special is that he is such a good person – he is honest, trustworthy, respectful and such a gentleman. He makes me laugh everyday and is my best friend.
Q: Do you celebrate Valentines Day? If yes, what do you do?
Jason first asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentines Day 2012, so it’s a special day for us to celebrate when we first became ‘official’. Jason always finds a way to out-do himself every year, so I can’t wait to see what he has in store for me this year. Needless to say, it is always very romantic and over-the-top (in true Jason style!).
Q: Can you share some tips about planning your wedding for other brides-to-be?
The biggest tip I can give is just to put everything in perspective. Yes, it’s one of the biggest days of your life, but it is still only one day of many you will have together. Being organised is essential, but some people can just take the wedding process to a whole other crazy level. Just enjoy the experience, be on top of things, and relax.
Q: Best advice you’ve ever received about love/ relationships?
To be honest, kind and open with one another and to always have complete trust.
Q: Most important characteristics in a partner?
Honesty and trust.
Q: Can you tell us about a romantic moment you have shared with Jason?
Our proposal story is by far the most romantic moment I have shared with Jason. He completely surprised me by taking me to the penthouse of the Crown Towers in Melbourne — the whole night was full of lots of different surprises, and I had no idea that he would propose to me with the ring of my dreams (that he had picked out completely by himself). We went for a limo ride, to a 5 star restaurant, had my favourite dessert, a room full of rose petals — it was such a magical night!
