Pre-Wedding Prep – Calm and Collected

We photographed the gorgeous Eleni and her partner Nathan at their engagement and now Andrew has been invited back to capture their wedding day.

We asked Eleni all about the prep leading up to her big day and what advice she has for other brides…

Give me three words to describe how you’re feeling leading up to your wedding day?

EXCITED, calm, collected (even though we’ve been thrown some curveballs).

What are you doing to prepare? Physically? Mentally? Emotionally?

I’ve started reformer pilates and love it! Mentally and emotionally I’m living in the moment and taking things light-heartedly knowing that it will all fall in place and be everything I ever imagined.

Tips/advice to other brides?

Do your research, don’t ask for too many opinions – that’s when you get confused! Most of all do what makes you happy, it is your day after all!

What are you most looking forward to?

Walking down the aisle and seeing my handsome man standing there waiting for me to start our lives together. Secondly, partying at the reception with all our loved ones!

Are there any special traditions you’re including in your day?

We were always going to get married in the Greek church. I guess one of the traditions that we are incorporating on our day is the koufeta for our guests. It consists of an uneven number (typically 5) sugar-coated almonds that represents the bittersweet life of a married couple – wishing them happiness, health, wealth, children and a long life!

Any bridezilla moments you can share?

Hmmmmm, I’ve kept quite calm throughout the whole planning process, not a lot can stress me out. I’ve probably gone bridezilla on my mum when she has a different opinion to mine but that’s nothing new. All is now starting to fall into place perfectly and I just cannot wait!

Eleni and Nathan are getting married on June 14, 2014 and will their special day will be photographed by Andrew. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, simply call us at the studio 3393 0066 or email porfyri@porfyri.com.au
